How to Look at Art

Our series for 2009-2010 will again be taught by the wonderful Marcia Page. She will begin with lectures on stylistic analysis of art works and a description of the techniques used in making art. Subsequent lectures will compare and contrast art works from many timeperiods thematically.  Thisapproach encourages an understanding of the influences of patronage, religiousbelief and historical events on the artist and offers explanations for thedifferences between works of similar subject matter in different time periods.  The cost for the two semesters oflectures is £90.
